I received a revision request!! I received a revision request!! From an actual editor. It's a big deal, because ... well ... this is the first revision request I've EVER received, on the first novella I ever wrote, from the first epublisher I ever submitted to. Lots of firsts, huh? Did I mention it came directly from an editor? The requests themselves are more structural in nature and will require some shuffling of things - but totally doable. There's no guarantee of course, and I keep repearting to myself 'I will not screw it up, I will not screw it up, I will not screw it up', but I can't help be EXCITED.
Yay! I'm excited too! And you know I'll be emailing you for details! LOL This is so awesome, Kaily! :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats Kaily!! You should be excited :)
ReplyDeleteYay Kaily :) Wonderful news !! Congrats :)
ReplyDeleteSo, this means, the editor needs the revisions done before she can accept the book ? How does process go from here?
Congrats Kaily dear. I'm so happy for you, and wow, what a quick turn around. Looks like you caught someone's eye! :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats! I think it won't be long now...
ReplyDeleteCongrats! That's awesome.
ReplyDeleteHey, fantastic Kaily! Congratulations!! Where are you subbing to?
ReplyDeleteYay! congratulations! That is how I got my first contract. Good luck. You won't screw it up. The editor saw something she really liked or she wouldn't have asked you to revise. One page at a time, you'll get there.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! all that submitting is paying off! well done!
ReplyDeleteCongrats!!
ReplyDeleteGreat news!
ReplyDeleteCari & Lacey - yes, now I'm even more excited as I start working through the changes. I can see how the story would be stronger.
ReplyDeleteJu - in terms of the process, this is new for me, so I'm not really sure. I'll focus on the revisions and getting them right and hopefully the editor will like them enough to offer to publish it!
Hetal - yes, the turnaround was great. 4 weeks! One of the great things about the epublishing side of things (and not having to snail mail hard copies certainly speeds things up).
Kaye - thanks for your support!
Sarah - thanks & welcome!
Jackie - I subbed to Elloras Cave. If figure if I was going to go epublishing, I'll pick one of the biggest players.
Lynne - Thanks for the encouragement. I keep telling myself she must have liked the writing.
Kerrin - thanks! I told myself I would go all out in 2010 and get as much out as I could.
Jennifer - Hi, welcome & thanks!
Wendy - thanks so much!
