So what am I doing to celebrate? You had to ask LOL. I have to rush my daughter to the dentist this morning. She lost a filling yesterday. I was at the doctors office myself yesterday (5 hour door-2-door trip) and he gave me the wonderful news that I have bronchitis and possibly phemonia. Sigh... I'll be getting a chest x-ray early this afternoon. I'm OK with taking my clothes off on my birthday, more than, but for an x-ray? :) I could have done without that. I also have air conditioner repair men under foot all day at the house. One of our units completely broke down and they need to rebuild it. For 4 hours! Thousands of dollars worth of repairs. So thankful I had the forsight to buy an extended warranty plan for it. And to top it all off, tonight it's my daughter's Girl Scout court of awards so we'll be rounding out the evening with s'mores and hot chocolate. Of course it will probably reach 80 degrees here today so not exactly the welcome snack it could be. I live an exciting life, don't I? I really know how to celebrate in style, yes? You probably wish you too could have this much fun on your birthday!
Anyway, it is my birthday but I thought I'd turn the tables and be the one giving away stuff! Through 11:59 pm Eastern tomorrow (cause I'm hoping tomorrow will be better, MUCH better), I'll pick a commenter on this blog to win either a signed copy of my print anthology OR any 3 of my ebooks. Winners choice. Not bad, right?
You can leave a random comment or tell me what's the best or worst birthday (or present) you ever had! GO!

Happy Birthday, Kaily! :) Hope you're feeling better soon...
ReplyDeleteHmm... Best birthday I can think of happened this year (last month), because I got my first book contract (with EC!) and found out I'd won the Rebecca contest's erotic category.
Oh, and pass that hot chocolate this way--it's snowing here today!
PS: I have all of your books already and they're awesome! :)
Hi Kaily, wow what a week it's been for you so far. HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Hope it's the turning point for things only getting better. My best birthday is hopefully coming up soon :) if I'm not getting that first ever trip to New York, I'll be just as happy getting to sleep in then wake up for cake! I am easy to please :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Kaily,
ReplyDeletehope you feel better soon. By the way, who says you can only take your clothes off once ;).
Best birthday present I ever got was an owl picture from my daughter. Damn the girl has talent, I just don't from whom :)
Whoa, Kaily! What a day ahead, eh? I do hope you'll have time to squeeze in some cake ;) I'm sure I might have a similarly fun time in store for me this year for my birthday! Though I've kind of hit the age where I don't necessarily want to be reminded that the years are passing, I didn't necessarily want to be called for jury duty, either! So I'll be waiting to see whether I need to go in; if I do, I'll need to arrange that my kids (who will be off for the Christmas holidays) are taken care of. If I don't, I'll likely be hanging out with them and their friends :) (Um, hanging out means making sure there's plenty of food available and various amusements, and sorting out the occasional disagreement, mostly between sibs ;p)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing with us on YOUR birthday! What a treat!
Happy Birthday Kaily! My best birthday present was two tickets to see a concert with my best friend.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway!
Jessica
Hi Kaily,
ReplyDeleteMy best birthday present was the year that my twin boy's were born three days after mine. That week was pretty hard to top.
Happy Birthday. Based on today, tomorrow just has to be better!

Well, they always say there's no story without some conflict... so, you're having one heck of a storybook birthday. Congrats and an even better next year. :D
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! You do live such an exciting life, certainly sounds better than mine...all I've been doing is getting up going to work, sleeping, getting up...and so on and so on. I need to add some excitement to my life for sure! ;)

ReplyDeletehope you had a good bday! mine is tmrw and I asked my hubby to get a "no soliciting" sign for our front door. our neighborhood is notorious for random people trying to sell us things!!
ReplyDeleteLOL Kaily:) I did this last year on my birthday too! Characters: So if it's her birthday, why are we giving away her books? Don't we want peole to BUY them?
ReplyDeleteSelf: It's the holidays; credit cards are already maxxed out. And it's better to give than to receive....:)
Hope you had a great birthday!
PS: In spite of the x-ray, that is!
ReplyDeleteMy best birthday present was this past year when I got my Kindle. I love it.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, Kaily! Wish you felt better so you could enjoy it. Take care.
ReplyDeleteMy best birthday present came early in 2004 when my first grandchild, Samuel, was born 8 days before.
Hi Kaily! Hope your doing better today! Last year for my birthday everyone in my house was sick, it sucked! Hopefully this year will be better, lol!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a wonderful weekend!
Alina
Happy Birthday.
ReplyDeleteThe best present I ever recieved was going to a midnight showing of the "x-men". We were all dressed up, a group of about 12, and once we got into the theatre my date stood up and announced my birthday. The entire theatre sang happy birthday and I was given a bunch of popcorn and candy and ice cream from strangers as presents. It was just fun! Hope your day is great.
