It starts TODAY, Friday, October 28th and goes through Monday, October 31st and I'm giving away books!! I'll be picking four winners, yes FOUR winners from comments on my blog through Monday. Each winner can have their choice of any of my ebooks. All you have to do is tell me what YOU love about Halloween (or don't). I'll announce the winners on Tuesday. Here!
There's a ton of other authors participating all giving away something on their own blogs. Be sure to check them all out HERE to follow the Hop around and see what else is up for grabs!!!
Below are some of the more interesting pumpkins I've seen so far. Some people have WAY too much time on their hands if you ask me :).
love how creative people are! Pumpkin carving is probably one of my favorite things about halloween. Ours never turn out quite as fancy as any of those above....but we have a blast doing it!

Happy Halloween!
what i don't like about Halloween is that older teens go around and if you don't give them a treat your house or car is vandalized. could be a neighborhood thing here
ReplyDeleteAside from the kids having so much fun, I love the lengths people go to decorate their homes.
ReplyDeleteI agree with J Barrett. I do not like the older teens who vandalize.

I love the little ones all dressed up in their costumes. Love the colors and smells. Also it's my late Mom's birthday. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for this opportunity to win.

Those are some great pumpkins! I wish I was that talented! Happy Halloween! I'm also in the hop at www.mahalia2010.wordpress.com
ReplyDeleteI love all the different costumes the kids wear!! I dislike all the candy my kids come home with and tempt me!! The faster they eat it the better!

My favorite holiday when I was a kid. A free '50s horror movie marathon at our local theatre to start the day . We grew up in a neighborhood of old Victorian houses and a lot of large trees. This was the only night of the year we could stay out after dark and it was so much fun being someone or something you weren't. Walking thru the dark quiet with the occasional breeze and the crunch of the dried leaves making the only sounds. Some of the elderly people answering their doors were really scary in the dark. Sometimes trick-or-treat wouldn't come out of our mouths. Love it again so much more since I've had kids and watching them have such a good time.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Halloween costume is Flannel PJ’s. They’re comfy and warm and the best thing is I can go right to bed when I get home and I don’t have to scrub off any heavy makeup.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Halloween candy is the candy corn. I eat so much of it during Halloween that I can't stand the sight of it.... that is until the next Halloween rolls around; then I'm good to go for some more candy corn! LOL
My favorite non scary Halloween movie is Hocus Pocus. I just love Bette Midler. My favorite scary Halloween movie is Halloween with Jamie Lee Curtis. It still scares me, but I get out the DVD every year and watch.
Having a hopping good time! It’s great visiting with old friends and finding new authors and books to add to my wish list. <^_^>
Thank you for being part of the hop AND for the chance to win!

We have a small tradition in our family that on Halloween we all get together and carve pumpkins, from the little ones to obviously us adults and we can get pretty creative. Last year I did a Jack Skellington one (one of my favorite movie characters) my young niece did Stitch (from the movie Lilo & Stitch), so we have all kinds of really creative people! :)

My favorite thing about Halloween is how creative people get. Costumes, decorating homes, pumpkins, I think it is great to see what people come up with.
ReplyDeleteI agree with everyone, I don't like the older kids who vandalize.

My favorite thing about Halloween is making costumes for my children. The there are two that stand out the most. A Cleopatra for my daughter with the headpiece that too me days to make out of beads and lots of cursing and the other four Teen-age Mutant Ninja Turtle customes for my son and his three friends. The joy on their faces when they put them was the best Halloween treat for me!
ReplyDeleteWe don't get into Halloween in the same way in the UK, so it pretty much passes me by. I'm enjoying the blog hop and all the spooky stories though! :)

I do like Halloween, but I use to love it more. It's still one of the more happy festive events I know.
ReplyDeleteLove the pumpkin pics. Yeah, I've heard about people carving with power tools!
I love funny pumpkins and the costumes!
ReplyDeleteeripike@gmail.com
Love those pumpkins, and I realize that I have no creative pumpkin carving genes!
ReplyDeleteI love handing out candy, especially with the little kidlets from the neighborhood.

I really enjoy seeing the little kids- under 7...they are new out in their cute little costumes looking just adorable. They are what Halloween is all about - I loved taking my nieces out at that age too. They were so much fun.
ReplyDeleteI love the candy and the decorations but don't enjoy dressing up :-) Seeing other people in costume is fun, though.

I love watching the kids clean out the pumpkin for my hubby to carve and their joy as they run up to people's houses to tell them trick or treat.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the chance to win

I love seeing the kids all dressed up in their costumes. They are so cute!:-)
ReplyDeleteI hate that I'm diabetic now and can't share in their treats. :-(
I used to really like dressing up for Halloween & handing out candy to the local kids, but that all changed when my little town was deemed "safe" by parents in larger neighboring towns & they started bringing in hundreds of kids & turning them loose on our quiet streets. Not only has it gotten downright expensive to feed the hoards, but many of them are dropped off & left to their own destructive devices. So now, I hide behind my drawn blinds with the porch light off & read a book.

I love passing out the candy on beggars night. The costumes and the excitement of the little ones is just so fun. There are lots of parents who have some great creativity in making the costumes.
ReplyDeleteOur house has been "one of the popular stops" a few times. I've passed out beanie babies for trick or treat, and one year it was freezer pops.
You just never know what is going to be a "hit" with the kids.

I guess I'm really happy about all the excitement all around for Halloween :) Fascinating, to say the least - from the trick or treats to costumes..and the carved pumpkins of course!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a wonderful one, Kaily :)

I love that everyone is in such a good mood when they're doing things, whether it's trick or treating or dressing up.
ReplyDeleteBut I'm going to be honest; I love the fact that I can eat a ridiculous amount of cand and nobody looks twice at me!
Thanks!
rae.gwendy(at)gmail(dot)com
I do love seeing how creative everyone is, but I hate the pressure of coming up with costumes for the kids and all the extra work their school parties create ;p But candy? Yes, please :)

Okay I left a comment earlier but it made like a ghost and disappeared! I love the pumpkin pics! Unusual costumes and pumpkins are my fave.
ReplyDeleteI pretty much love all things about Halloween, pumpkins, the costumes, decorations, and CANDY! About the only things I don't like are spiders and clowns (both are just creepy).

Happy Halloween! June said it all! I hate clowns and spiders. *shudder* I also like the weather, the color changes, the tricks and treats. I like seeing how everyone decorates and what ideas pop in there head. I just love Halloween! The scariness, the spooks and thrills, i really love haunted houses. ;) Thanks for the awesome giveaway!

I hope that you had a happy halloween. I love a lot of things about halloween but mostly I love the costumes. The cute kids in creative costumes always makes me smile. I do not like the scary movies. shiver.
